"I thought you were okay with it," Rose mumbled, resting her head on his shoulder. "You're always smiling and joking…"

"Well, I'm not okay with it." Jack buried his hands deeper in the pockets of his coat. "It hurt, seeing you two leave without me. I thought you cared about me."

"I do care about you. And so does the Doctor."

He just looked at her. "Then why didn't you come back?"

She didn't have an answer, so she just blinked back tears and took his hand. "Please don't leave us."

He said nothing, but he gripped her hand tighter.
